Ant Trail Docs
The useful parts: account safety, protecting your history, reporting bugs, recovery, and how future Trail services are meant to behave.
Download
Use CurseForge.
Ant Trail's public download and update path is CurseForge. The website does not maintain a second ZIP mirror or a parallel install workflow.
Accounts
Read openly. Write as yourself.
You do not need an account to read the Campfire or browse public project information. A verified Ant Trail account is required to create bug reports, start discussions, reply, and eventually attach private Trail storage.
Ant Trail accounts are separate from Battle.net. Email addresses stay private; community posts display a user-selected trail handle.
Backups
Your trail is worth backing up.
Ant Trail's character autobiography is stored through WoW SavedVariables on your computer. Before major migrations, recovery work, or experimental builds, copy the relevant Ant Trail SavedVariables to a safe folder outside the live WoW directory.
Keep the untouched source. Recovery work should happen on copies until the result has been verified in game.
Campfire
Give us a sequence we can chase.
- What were you doing immediately before the problem?
- What did you expect Ant Trail to do?
- What happened instead?
- Which Ant Trail version and WoW Forever build were you using?
- Does
/reloador relogging change it? - If there is a Lua error, include it only after checking for private information.
Data safety
SavedVariables are not a public attachment.
Full Ant Trail data can contain more personal character and social history than a normal bug report needs. Start with reproduction steps, version/build information, redacted errors, and screenshots. If raw data is ever needed, it should move through a private, purpose-built support path.
Recovery
Preserve evidence. Do not invent history.
When an older record lacks enough information to reconstruct a newer field, migration should preserve what is known and leave the rest unknown. Always work from copies and keep the untouched original until the migrated character is verified.
Trail services
Account first, private first.
Future Trail storage is intended to attach to the same verified account used by the Campfire. Imports arrive privately, schema validation happens before publication, and nothing becomes public without an explicit publish choice.
